I think I ordered on 4/4. So that means 8/4 for shipping. Roundabout guess though, +/- 2 weeks. Mid-Late August would be my guess, anything sooner would be a pleasant surprise.

The company that usually does the powder-coating has unexpectedly gone out of business, so you got the option to pick between a blue-green hand-painted finish (inspired by the first Polytopes) or you can wait a few more weeks for the powder-coating to be done by a new vendor. There was a third option to cancel your order but that seems kind of silly.
This is an option?!? I've asked for this numerous times and Taylor has said he isn't set up to do it anymore. What sort of handpainting is it? Just handpainted letters? Or is the two-color gradient finish making a reappearance?
EDIT: thanks, @SFOB. I gather it's something along the lines of the earliest Iron Ether pedals, so a solid border with a textured interior.

This Polytope looks great, with a similar aesthetic to the Subterrograph and Subterranea re-release.
This wasn't planned, per #5,189. The shop Taylor uses for his enclosure finishing went out of business, so the option presented is A) get your pedal on time with a different, hand-painted finish or b) get your pedal a few weeks late with the advertised finish, done by a different shop.
I think it's very cool of him to commit to the original timeframe, even if it means extra work for himself, and also the fact that he's willing to give us the choice.
Personally I sort of like the hand-painted finish more, but sometimes in my experience, hand painted finishes can be less protective/less durable, which is a concern for me for some months out of the year due to humidity and the risk of rust. I asked Taylor if it would make a difference in his opinion.
Taylor got back to me. I forgot many enclosures are aluminum... the ones I usually have trouble with are steel. So no problems there! I'm still going to get mine hand-painted.
speaking of XDs... new batch up for preorder. Trying to decide whether I mean it...
Looks like Subterraneas are about to start shipping out, just got an email from Taylor that a package is being prepared.
Aaaaand just got the official UPS notice. Stoked.
