Yeah, out of blue is lost it's sweep and sounded a weak distorted shadow if itself. My favorite pedal and maybe my signature sound. I'll hit Taylor up and see what he thinks.
Hi, I had a question: does subterrenea work well with doom2 or is it a bit redundant? Thanks.
it depends on the sound you are looking to achieve. I have stacked my subt -> doom2 and I really like the way it thickened up the sound. Also sounds awesome when you move past the 12th fret. too much gain or too much synth and it gets pretty insane.
If you are judicious with how much of the synth voices on the Subterranea you are dialling in, they can work together. That said, I found them to be pretty redundant (for my own use scenarios), so ended up moving the D2 on relatively quickly. Sub is going absolutely nowhere!
I went the other way. Kept the D2 and traded the SubT for an Octabvre MKI Tim mod. Although the SubT had everything I wanted for a sub synth sound (probably will always regret selling it), it's not the only sub sound I use. The Octabvre has the versatility of the sub-only switch making available two sub tones and then the D2 can bring the synth tones, all controllable with stomps. At least for now, this is working well for me. Glad the SubT is back in production, though!
I got a subterranea, it's true that it's a killer with a xerograph, I prefer the subeterrenea to my octabvre MKIII, after that I never tested the MKII but for the subterranea can do a nice clean
@Jonathan49 Agreed, it does an excellent clean sub octave sound! While it does feel a bit like "underutilizing" the full potential of the pedal, there is no denying it excels at this particular task as well.
Here's a recording of a Subterranea in a full band mix. Things aren't levelled/balanced out properly, but this song is basically ready to be sent off for mix now, and still gives a good indication of how it sounds in context (if your context is dub reggae meets Scottish trad-folk LOL)

Sounds fabulous! Do you use a HPF after the octave, either in your chain or in the box? So glad I got in on the last preorder.
Update... I contacted Taylor and he said to send my Xero 3 to him for diagnostics and repair. Before sending it, I tried it again and low and be hold, it worked. I must have had a bad power supply connect. Anyway, three rehearsals and two gigs later it's still working.
