Oops Sorry, thank you for letting us know BTW. THX and do keep it up. The folks in this thread know what a certain IE pedal does, why we want what it does and then can determine how much what it does is worth to us. So I’m all in for helping each other. I know I’m here for the interface where tools & art are indistinguishable.

I hope the Dubterranea drops before mid-June so I can try to grab one before heading over the pond.

I keep checking multiple times a day. At least the frantabit showed up.

I know it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I’m excited to try it.

I want a polytope and a Fmeron. Should have snagged one from the last batch.

it would also be cool to have two xerographs. One for up and one for down.

THX MG, the first hasty tab on search produced the unusual Chestnut colored one sold at $113. Which is crazy inexpensive IMO and a tremendous value in regards to what it does and it’s Well cared for lovely appearance.

The second picture depicts the one currently available at $280
Which I think is a little on the price gouging side which, given the kind of language I used in my last post, I both understand and am annoyed by. I don’t know if the seller, who’s brief description, by placement in a new paragraph, features the statement “Hard to come by and absolutely gorgeous.” thinks the observable wear makes it “shabby Chic” or something but it rings a bad bell with me personally. And while I really like Reverb, it’s been a great resource to me and would certainly purchase anything I felt strongly about with price just part of the equation; given the choice I’d rather get one here if possible, because I can talk to the person as a bassist, they’ll understand where I’m coming from and I them about price or whatever.

That said I do wish to own another Subterranea. The one I purchased used is, on some voice settings making a crackling sound with anything but a very low volume signal. I don’t know if I put 18v to it by accident or something else but after describing it to Taylor and getting his feedback I’m going to chill for a bit and try again. And yeah if I do become certain it ain’t me,

Taylor DID NOT suggest this, he just told me a $30 bench fee to look into it, which is beyond reasonable.

but I’d pay $280 to have it refurbished. Trust me, I’ve been a fool for lesser things!

So thx again Movinngroovin, I’ll keep trying to help where I can and appreciate the continuing community attitude here.

yep that’s me too! I’m selling stuff and gonna sock it away those endz to that end LOL!

I’ll buy another SubT at any time if someone wants to sell one and price is a comparatively small factor in the equation. Of course I’ll play it. it’s probably more about the unique appearance of them given I hope to soon have a Dubterranea.

To be clear, I wouldn't ever charge anything to test out a pedal if it seems to be damaged. There would only ever be a repair fee for out-of-warranty stuff if I actually replace or fix something inside. I say this because pedals sent in for repair often are working normally, and the issue turns out to be a bad patch cable, power supply issue, etc. and in those cases I'm not gonna charge you anything just to tell you it's working normally.

The Subterranea, being an analog tracking pedal, had some quirky behaviors and definitely can spit out some crackly sounds if there's noise in the input signal, and just in general its functioning changes depending on the signal you feed it. This is partly why I discontinued the pedal and started thinking about a new design that would be a little more "well-behaved." I'm sure there will be some who prefer the sound of the original though, being that it's a completely new design, not just some tweaks on the Subterranea circuit.

Sorry if I didn’t convey that clearly Taylor.
The above was exactly how I understood your reply and was grateful for your time and thoughts. I definitely took away a continuing high opinion of your integrity and I would think that anyone who’s dealt with you or has followed some of the interactions here would think as I do; that you are a person who clearly places art above all other considerations. This and a statement that I feel treated beyond fairly, more like generously
by you is what I meant to express. Thank you for your patience man!
I’m going to follow your suggestions as throughly and with diligence, it would really pain me to waste your time.
Especially when it might detract from work you find fulfilling and we here all anticipate, and benefit from so greatly.
I dig that Subterranea, I have derived so much joy in using it, I’ve made others happy in using it. I kinda freaked out.

I’m tempted with the Frantabit but it scares me! That and I’ve got other IE pedals I want before it in the queue.

There is a ForTrade Polytope in the classifieds right now BTW.
It’s v2 I think.

Xenograph v2 in classifieds.
I think they’re both v1, or not the newest versions in any case. The v2 polytope has a third switch for the filter (high pass/low pass), a great feature. The v2 (or maybe it’s v3) XD has a sixth knob, expression attenuation I think, and a second footswitch for engaging the envelope follower.
