Don’t forget about your Nimbus SE

OH! Man that’s a major foul on my part! Yes! The Nimbus SE is going to make me seem (even) more romantic with the ladies! It’s kinda like one of those hazy portrait pictures from back in the day!
Seriously though If it’s anything like the liquid gold Polytope, and suspect it is, this gonna gorgeousifiy my fretless tone and grow old...er with me.
Thank you again MG for having the smarts to include the description of the SE extra functionality. It’s seriously added value!

question about the DubT... If i put a fuzz and xerograph in the effects loop, can they still be activated without the DubT on or they will only work when the DubT is active?
It's my understanding that the loop gets triggered with the "Synths" footswitch - so would only be active when the pedal and synths are engaged. And while I'm not totally clear on this, I think only the synths get sent to that loop, so even turning those levels to 0 wouldn't let you use the loop pedals on their own as it wouldn't send any signal through (I don't think the clean or octave signals go through it).

so for argument's sake, would there be any benefit to the xero in the loop? probably not as far as i can tell

but dedicated pedals for a modular synth tone would be

this sound right?

I'd say the main benefit of having the XD/fuzz/whatever else in the loop would be that you can kick on your full synth tone with a single foot press (by just leaving everything in the loop always on). Otherwise, you'd be stomping on the DubT, XD, fuzz, etc. all individually.

Eadger has it right. I would probably end up keeping the fuzz and Xerograph in-line rather than in the loop, for that reason, but the loop basically came free with the way the Synths stomp switch works, so I thought it might be useful for some situations if you're only ever using your synth chain pedals together. It also means you could keep the deep sine wave Octaver voice (Timbre knob all the way down) clean and mix the fuzzed-out synth voices in parallel, rather than sending everything through the fuzz. And you can put an expression pedal or volume pedal there and fade the synth voices in and out while playing.

I’d been meaning to post a photo of the Iron Ether pedals and to thank the people here for their help getting this together. They are sounding soooo good together and in the mix. Getting that CIOKS DC7 is kinda game changing, don’t ask me why, it’s just kind of opened up possibilities (Thx kranahan I’m digging that Edison too).

I’m stoked about the Oxide and not complaining one bit, I’d seen this one around here in threads for a while. At some point someone put these crazy deep knobs on it, the set screw type as well. Anyway they’re falling off which is fine by me. These pots look like fine thread right? I’m thinking black knobs will kill but I want them to be kinda period correct. It’s #356. What’ya think?

@Taylor Livingston Not to jump on but I'd really like to change some of my all-silver knobs over to the black knurled ones if possible. In particular, one of my Frantas doesn't even have black lines in the indicator grooves which makes it a challenge!

Are your knobs custom or is there a source (so we don't eat into your stock)?

Dang it, I slept on that Arching Prisms in the Classifieds. Should've hopped on it right away. Back to the wait list. How long between batches usually? Anybody know? Besides ordering the DubT, this will be my first purchase directly from IE...

Sorry I came in and scooped that up from right underneath ya! Excited to try it out, my band is doing a record this September and there’s a song I’m really interested in trying it out on, from all the clips I can find online it’s truly a wild effect.

Ah, that’s just the way the game goes - no worries! Please let us know your impressions of it, and how the song goes!
