I can't believe it. I just pre-ordered a Dubterranea. So much money for someone who only buys used gear. But after getting an Oxide I have seen that Iron Ether pedals are worth every penny and then some. Still kicking myself for not getting a Xerograph Deluxe while they were still there so I learned my lesson and just pulled the trigger.
I have also learned Pedal G.A.S. is so much harder to resist because you can get a world class pedal for cheaper than a cheap bass. I thought I was done with G.A.S. and I have now bought 5 pedals in the last 4 months....

You can also play many pedals at a time and use any bass whereas basses you can only play 1 at a time
Good point. Especially considering the last couple of pedals I bought were not really meant to be used on their own.

It's digital. But you can still pick up the old Subterranea on the used market, which was all-analog, if that's your thing.
Even when that one was being designed years ago, I knew a digital version could be better, but I was still worried about people accepting it. I think the pedal world has moved on from that viewpoint for the most part in the last decade, though.
The Dubterranea has more accurate, better-sounding waveforms, more features, more variety of sounds, better tracking, octave up, no oscillator bleed or unwanted noise/fizz on the Octaver voice. In my humble opinion it's better in every way, but of course it's for the users to have those debates.
As you should. I think it wise that you place your attention and energy where you derive fulfillment and we benefit because of it. It’s up to the individual to decide whether their time is best spent enjoying and nurturing their individual gifts or nurturing a grudge. To me the digital/analog interface is logical to the point of inevitability.
Maybe I’m describing it wrong, I really don’t know much about the subject but this has knobs!
Welcome to the IE thread, @revd. I wouldn't put that much weight on one person's uninvited response. The pedal maker, Taylor, gave an informed reply without casting stones and I think most, if not all, people here are open to other's opinions, including @Emanuel.
I was a bit in the analogue camp before getting a Xerograph Deluxe and have really enjoyed it. It has a feel I haven't been able to achieve with any other filter. And plenty of people who have that pedal thought it was analog, FWIW.
I think you will find Taylor to be very receptive and someone who creates his pedals with passion. I say all of this because I too am fairly new to the thread and have had very constructive help from others, including @Emanuel. Happy 4th!
I was on the full analog band wagon for along time. I even had a xerograph dlx back then and had no idea it was digital.
Source audio changed that for me.

Honestly I was thinking about some of the silliness that happens with topics here, and anywhere really.
My statement was about that actually and any particular topic or person.

PS I most certainly prefer Analog, I’m just stating to have a little more faith (again) in “Digital done right” LOL!

I've been playing synths since the 70s, have a great collection of analogue and (mainly) digital gear. Love it all!
For my very recently-begun bass journey, I'm just going for analogue as far a possible that's all, personal reasons, not claiming it's better, just fits in with my current bass vibe. Who knows, I may revisit my stance in the future
As Taylor suggested, I'll have a look at SubT, might fit my brief more closely.

I hope my reply didn't come off rudely. Sound and feel are subjective, so all personal preferences are equally valid when it comes to music. There was a time when I not only only wanted analog effects, I only wanted tube-based effects. None of this newfangled transistor rubbish!

Revd I throughly recommend the Subterranea. It was the “Bass synth” pedal I’d been looking for my entire bass playing experience.
I didn’t start playing until the age of 19 but I remember Wendy Carlos when her name was Walter.
I pre-ordered the Dubterranea, I’m excited but proceeding with reasonable expectations.
I’m hoping for it to be a smashing success for a number of reasons not the least of which is see Taylor hit another one out of the park.
But you can’t go wrong with the fluidity and feel of the analog Subterranea! It’s got its quirks, not many really and nothing unusual for a analog octave effect. IMO it performs excellent in every way related to an octave effect. All important stuff. I find the Octave and filter combo to be as good as any and unique but man the -1 & unison synth voices!

Whoa, it’s 12:30 and where I’m at in LA folk go NUTS with big illegal fireworks. It’s non-stop, 360 degrees for 5 hours straight! I’m going to need a drink to get to sleep! I’m mean that’s the 5th time I’ve heard War’s “Lowrider” playing somewhere!

For me my biggest complaint a lot analogue vs digital is when it’s either “too fake sounding” or you need an interface to change options more than what is on the knob layout... I had a polytope and sold it cos I was basically mimicking the setting I was using my boss ceb3 for and also had a nimbus that I sold as wanted something with more than just plain reverb... but the sounds IE make are top notch AND I love that it’s what you see is what you get... added bonus I love the clean vs effect separate knobs rather than one blend knob. Now just need a frantabit and and oxide to show up locally in aus...
@Taylor Livingston When do you plan on shipping out the first batch of DubTs? Asking for a friend.
