Good to know, thx UKD! I’ll have to bear that in mind.
Words like “Brutal” “Pulverizing” “Unhinged” Always grab my attention. There is something beautiful about a devastating fuzz tone, provided the low end is crushing.
But no middle ground would really kneecap a pedal.
Damm...listen to all the violent language first thing in the morning, it’s the fuzz talking!

I should mention that the Your Doom 2 Fuzz is a damm good pedal in this analog synth chain application IMO. Perhaps not in a “this is THE fuzz” way because I’ve been stacking it. It’s unique in general although I’m at a loss to say why. But it will take anything you throw at it and make it different and super useable, it evens out things but stays dynamic enough to trigger an Xenograph nicely. It can easily reintroduce or produce a controlled low end. And if you run any, clean to falling apart -1 Octave into it the upper octave of the fuzz really jumps out. It’s prominent and super synthy. All the other octave ups digital (Mini POG, Quint Machine) and analog (Octron 3) either sounded like a overdriven Rhodes (Octron) or sounded like an Organ. The Doom2 after a -1 octave/whatever Dirt-Frantabit produces a great +1 octave that’s really cool into a Xenograph. With the other Doom2 knobs/Xenograph filter you can practically isolate it as well.
Just keep any unison signal out of the equation when doing this. The Octron overdriven Rhodes sound was bada** tho I must say!

I’m running the Doom 2 in my synthy chain, but actually find that running after a sub octave makes the upper octave fuzz not be as synthy anymore (like it ends up being unison because it does an up octave on the sub). Believe it or not, I’m actually running my Doom 2 into my octave (then of course to XD).....and it still tracks well (hoping the dubT will track well with this config). With the Doom 2 upper octave running off my dry signal, and then adding the sub - gives me much more of the synthy sound I’m looking for even if it isn’t the traditional order.

That’s awesome. And never would have thought about doing that order. I’ll definitely try it tonight! I’m pretty much exclusively using a fretless 4 string and tapewounds for my analog synth stuff so that lack of harmonics may factor into my experience with the DOOM2 up octave thing. You know does really pay dividends to try every pedal order and such so thx again!

the bead blend and mid boost switch can bring the low end back but not as much as say a muff that’s designed for low end... however guaranteed you will be heard in the mix! I like it when it has a purpose for just that reason... had a you’re doom and it just was too tame for rock / metal for me... still would love an oxide one day to compare through my gear though!
