Iron Ether Subterranea

Man, it is awesome! I was glitching it out by running the MXR BEF into it, and running Polytope and Tremolo after it, into the Dispatch Master, and my wife came down and said, "that new pedal was totally worth it, that sounds really good!" Which means something because she rarely goes out of her way to compliment my playing! (She has to listen to a lot of it, bless her...) Anyway only the gig will really tell, but I have high hopes. It's replacing my MXR BOD, the OC-2 is staying on for "classic" octaver work, the SubT for synth tones and sonic stuff.

I've had mine for a couple weeks and gotta say I think its one of my faves already! I've actually been using it a bunch on guitar- there are lots of great textures available and the synth voices just sing in higher registers. The octave tracks great too on either bass or guitar, and I love being able to turn up the filter and get a more aggressive synthy tone from just the Octave voice. I've been running mine into a Xerograph then either my Polytope or a phaser and I can get tones I only wish my Dave Smith synth could cop!

do you put this before or after the xerograph? Right now, I have it distortion - subt - xero and the xero levels are way higher than unaffected signal?

I think typically you would have the Xero last so that it can filter the low frequencies created by the SubT. You would just adjust the level on the filter so that it isn't super loud (volume depends on if you want it to be boosted or the same as unaffected)

Anybody hear any news of when Taylor will have new stuff for sale? Awhile back I had posted a thread about his update and he estimated about a month or so until he had new stuff to post for sale. Now it's been a month and people on here that ordered in May are just getting there stuff. Makes me wonder if it will be awhile still. Maybe it's taking him longer to catch up than he anticipated. Poor guy probably got crushed with orders when he started accepting them again haha.

Ok so quick question, as I can't find it in the thread. What does the bleed through noise sound like? I just got mine and it's dead silent when I'm not using it, but don't know what it's supposed to sound like?

Also anyone have any cool settings they'd like to share?

OK! So played around with it a bit and found some killer sounds! Debating where to stick this sucker in my chain. I hear the noise that pedal may have been describing, but honestly, it's not very noticeable. Maybe it's because I have so many damn pedals? Dunno. Either way, my clean tone is dead silent and when I play the pedal I only hear it slightly when the pedal is using only the octave section. It's very slight though. Weird.

At any rate, this pedal, plus the B7K and Bitquest are AMAZING together. I'm using the Bitquest as a flanger, so it'd probably sound good with any flanger. Digging it a lot so far.

I don't have personal experience with one of the early run pedals, but my understanding is that the synth Voice would bleed through slightly into the octave voice. All three voices seem to utilize some gating that follows the dynamics of your playing, so I think you'd only hear the synth bleed through while playing. Try soloing the synth voice to get an idea what to listen for, then turn the filter knob on the Octave all the way down and solo the Octave to see if you still hear that Synth voice coming through. Are you sure yours is one of the earliest ones that had the issue?

Jwar, glad it arrived and you're digging it. The bleed happens when you have the unisynth and octosynth voices at 0 and only use the octave voice. Some of the unisynth still bleeds through. It never bothered me, which is why I never had it corrected. I always put it first in my chain, or right after a compressor when I still used one.

And all modulations sweeten up the SubT. My möbius was so perfect for it. You can make some awesome keyboard pads using the H9 quadravox after it.

Damnit I already miss it!

And will probably get crushed again when he re-opens. I know there was a lot of "SUB-T" giddiness going around (myself included) but I want to replace ALL my missing IE pedals, Xero, Oxide, Fran, etc......and I still love my Sub-T. So, so good

That's what I did, ordered a Subt, Oxide, Polytope and a XeroDeluxe.

And guess what.. got a shipping notice this morning! Can't wait to play with them toys!
