Iron Ether Subterranea

Weird, it turned out to be a power supply issue. I was powering the subT with a one spot. I got the distortion when the subT was the only pedal on the one spot. As soon as I added any other pedals to the one spot, it sounded great and tracked fine, even if the other pedals were not in the signal path.

Anyway, subT is fine and sounds amazing. :)

That's...weird? It's usually pedals act up when they're on a daisy chain, not that daisy-chaining fixes the problem. Did Taylor have an explanation for that?

No, I haven't heard back after I sent him my discovery. Yes, it's totally backwards, in fact the whole reason I tested it as the only pedal on the power supply was to avoid problems like this.

I'm moving to a pp2+ Soon, so hopefully it won't be an issue. I suspect the problem is in the one spot, bulimia (but I'm) not sure.

I actually have one pedal where the engraving went completely nuts, the text fades from normal on the right to somewhat mutated on the left and the IE logo is quite twisted and cuts straight through the enclosure. I like the idea of taking unexpected accidents and celebrating them. Maybe we shouldn't always hide our mutants under the stairs. ;)

Here's what I was talking about, for anybody interested. I felt that it worked especially well for the FrantaBit, since "malfunctioning machines" is a good way to describe what the pedal sounds like.
