Is 2 1x15 cabs a bad idea?

Yes

Should make great rig
Add more spl to your mix

Likewise if the amp distorts alright.
A little 150 watt grind is fun.

As long as you dont drop the ohms to low
Keep her at 4 ohms and expect it still run hot. As long as the amps good

Ideal if speakers were matching or just find a fun cheap old school 2x15

Thanks for your answer. I’m looking for a 2x15, however I might pair my 150w 8ohms Hartke cabinet with another one

The expert says: A 215 cab will be a nice coffin :D but it will be heavy….
Nothing wrong in using two 115 cabs. You can use one for small gigs and two for big gigs.
In that case, get home before dawn!!!! ;)

Welcome to TB!!! :hyper:

may the bass be with you

Hey guys!! New member here, not a newbie to bass, but I'm just getting back in after having to sell off all my gear 4 years ago to pay bills. I just purchased a GK 1001RB 1x15 combo that will be arriving later this week. Now I've played with 1x15 combos in the past and loved the sound I've gotten out of them, however I've never had the opportunity to play a setup with 2 15's. Now I just stumbled upon an incredibly reasonably priced GK 1x15 RBH cab that would match the combo I purchased. I'll mention right now the price is hard to pass as he wants $200 for a $640 cabinet. Any thoughts on running 2 15's at all? I was originally gonna save up to eventually get theGK RBH 410 but it's $900 so it's gonna take quite awhile. I'm gonna be playing in two different bands, one that is indie rock and one that is a mix of blues/rockabilly.
Ok, two 15's for the rock band, one for the blues band ... bada boom, bada bing. you got it covered.. I'm jealous, I cant pick up a single 15 cab anymore. ;) I use a 1x10 combo for my 3 piece country band, a 1x12 for a corporate band and 2 12's for my rock band ..

Some will say its easier to move 2 1x15s, others will say its easier to move a 215, comes down to how many stairs you are expecting. I have a 115 and a 215, both peaveys, and honestly, the 215 is easier to move 90% of the time for the shows I play locally. It just LOOKS so out of place on these tiny stages :)
