Is blues a dying art?

LENO LAST NIGHT...BEN HARPER W/ CHARLIE MUSSLEWHITE on harp...

Told y'all stayin up late..workin next day was a bad idea for me.. but a rare chance to see Musslewhite was worth it.

I've seen him live a couple if times = awesome. We have a festival each year called "The Doheny Blues Festival". Right on the beach. It's always filled with many thousands of people and great artists.

This is crap. By this logic an African American shouldn't play classical music. I mean how can she/he relate to the European elite who were the originators of that musical form?

Music, in all it's forms, is about the universal human condition. If you don't see that, if you don't feel it when you play it or listen to it, I feel very sorry for you.

It's not a dying art to me! I still buy a lot of blues albums and Trampled Under Foot is one of my favorites of the younger bands. Singer/bassist Danielle Schnebelen from that band is one of my favorite singers these days. Any type of music played with feel, is valid to me.

I've seen many bands have a really hard time playing a shuffle and making it groove ... either you feel it or you don't. A lot of rock and jazz drummers and bass players don't.

I love listening to guys like Ronnie Earl. Not a fan of the Stevie Ray Wannabes.
