Just a personal opinion, but I don't think Tiger/Eldrick gives two craps if he ever wins another golf match. He was raised on golf and pretty much ate, breathed, and lived the game for his entire life. This training paid off by making him a billionaire and when his life became a circus I think he said "you know what? Eff it, I don't need this crap in my life." and made the decision that golf was no longer a priority if the sum total of his career was to be remembered as the guy who wrecked his car after a fight with his wife.
Like Micheal Jackson, Eldrick never had a "normal" childhood, teen years, or even an adult life. He's been in the spotlight in one form or another since he was not much more than a baby, and to have that lifetime of drive and reward turned into a smarmy headline about his personal life, deserved or not, could be such a devastating blow to his ego it was simpler to just take his fat stacks and go home.
Yes he still plays and not being a huge fan of golf I've never just sat down and watched him play but my dad is a HUGE fan of the game so I've been exposed to it pretty much most of my life. I've been at my folks when Tiger was on the tube and he was so totally dominating it was pathetic, then post press vilification Eldrick's attitude is plainly one of "meh". What's the point of regaining that laser focus if any comment on his current state of play is always accompanied by a byline to remind folks of what a womanizing homewrecker he is?
