Is Eldrick Woods done being the best?

Golf isn't something I watch, but I hear about it through Pardon the Interruption. I think it would be cool for Tiger to come back and win after that insane injury. But making up 9 strokes in two days in his first tournament back in a long time seems really unrealistic to me. It's miraculous enough that he's played fairly well to this point. I expect he'll drop further back as he wears down. If he can stay healthy and improve his conditioning, maybe next year he'll seriously contend.
I don't know if anyone can recover from those injuries, but I know that if anyone can, Tiger can.
It's more than the car accident. The past 10+ years of his life include a handful of injuries and situations that would prevent many folks from ever playing golf again, even for fun.

It's a newsworthy story and having him back is good for the game.
People love to watch a celebrity crash and burn (just look at the Will Smith thread).

I just wanted to see Tiger make the cut. From what I've heard, Augusta is a tough 18 holes to walk, so it was a good measure of his fitness level.
One bad season led to him changing his swing and this and that. The prodigiously talented young man started to over think his game. The other things in life added their weight to his already burdened mind. Then, of course, his body woes began.
Jacks record is safe. Tiger is still a wonderful golfer, but he will be looking up at the field instead of down upon them.

IMHO after all that's happened it doesn't really matter if he breaks Jack's record now.
Tiger will always be a fan favorite when he shows up. I'm betting it's only the Majors from here on.
If he decides to play the senior tour in a few years I think he'll be very competitive.

If he would stop overthinking every move, he can get back to being great. Just play and have fun. Dude is way too serious!!
I'd be down with that bro. I just don't think his mindset is equal to the task. I think he has already accepted his new place on the tour.
Well, he's got to get back to "Mr. Automatic" for putts of 10' or in to do that. He missed some this weekend that the earlier version of him would not have.
As far as I'm concerned, he WINS by being out on that golf course.
I had a similar injury at age 16 and have a 6-inch steel plate in my left shin, as well as a bone graft because both of the leg bones were pulverized and I lost circulation in that leg for 24 hours. Yes, I came *that* close to losing it. So did he, according to all reports. In my case, I was turning left on a motorcycle and was hit by a car coming from behind.
At 18 months after the collision, my foot still swelled like a balloon every time I let it down or walked on it. I couldn't walk for more than a few minutes, then would have to sit and elevate my leg, at which time the foot would visibly get smaller as the blood drained out and returned to my body. And my gait was close to Igor in Young Frankenstein, minus the hump (whichever shoulder it was on.)
As far as I'm concerned, Tiger has done more and is tougher than about 90% of the people in the world. It's freakin' incredible that he's out there at all, and to WALK 36 holes in two days???????? I don't think I could have done that if you waved a million-dollar check in front of me.
My hat's off to him. As far as I'm concerned, he's a big winner. If he never wins another major, he has done enough to prove his dedication and toughness.

To add to that, Augusta is a VERY hilly course.
It's Masters week, and Tiger says he's ready to play. I'll be pulling for him.

For me, Tiger will always be the best. Just like Michael Jordan, Walter Payton, Doc Gooden, and Darryl Strawberry. Those gentlemen are the best at their sport and no one else is better than they are.

I would say that Gooden and Strawberry could have been among the best in baseball, but drug problems dramatically shortened their primes.
