Is everyone on TB going stereo??

In recording. In a live mix I’ve done it with the usual band bits but the thingy about bass is lower frequencies tend to sound less directional to our ears anyway. So other than effects, accents, it can be lost on an audience. But that should not stop anyone from trying because it’s cool.

Last Saturday, there were these 3 chicks at the Irish pub we gig at, seated at a table near the stage, even though they were kinda tipsy, they asked why I wasn't using a stereo output bass and amp setup yet. Because they were cute was the only reason I indulged them.

I don't know if "stereo" is the right word, but 2 of my 4 amps are 2-channel, one has two input channels, and I've been having a lot of fun blending clean and effected signals through one cab (with my V-4B) or two cabs (800RB and SM400S). Try it, you'll like it!

Been there, done that..80's..Rickenbacker 4003 stereo out to 2 amps either side of the drummer..Ric neck bass pickup behind me through amp 1..Ric bridge treble pickup other side of the drummer through amp 2...sounded great out front of stage but in the end not worth the setup time at the gigs. It required large wide stages and a large station wagon or van for transporting gear.
I still use my Rics but 1 amp is quite enough these days in my old age lol

Stereo makes no sense to me at all. None. Someone please explain so I can understand.

What does make sense to me is to run each pickup through a crossover taking highs from the bridge and lows from the neck. I think you would end up with a rich two pickup sound but with almost no mid scoop. But does anybody do this?

No. Way back I used to put one cabinet on the other side of the drummer so he was surrounded. He and the other band members seemed to like it. These days I only use one cabinet.
