Is global warming fake?

ok... lets try to keep this nice and not-political and clean if possible... i'd rather it stayed open for a few days at least.

heres a few articles to make you think whether or not all this craziness is really necessary.

first: an article written by John Coleman, the founder of the weather channel:

next, some articles from earlier this year that were never covered by the media (imagine that)

so... what do you think?

i personally believe that it's all a hoax thats being used to scare people into giving others money... and anything against it will never see the light unless you search for it like so many other things in history

I seriously don't think it's as massive as they let us believe. Is the Earth warming up? Sure, but probably a very small bit. And the temperature will probably go back down as well. I think all of this eco-friendly stuff is just ridiculous and not needed.

Yeah seriously guys, Global Warming is fake, let just dump hazardous nuclear waste into the oceans and ruin natural habitats!

Ok, fine, I'm a Global Warming skeptic as well, but that doesn't mean the environment isn't being affected by man. Deforestation, littering, improper disposable of hazardous material, etc. all harm the planet/things that live on it one way or another.

I'm sorry, that's not what I meant. I mean all these new products coming out with jacked up prices because they're not supposed to contribute to global warming. Being eco-friendly is fine, just don't shove it down people's throats.

I realized how that could have came across after I posted it, but I just didn't edit my post because, well, I like attention.

I think global warming is real, the cause of it is the controversy. Manmade or natural...

It's hard to believe that all the pollutants we put into the atmosphere could not be having some effect, to blow it off as a liberal conspiracy is kind of narrow-minded to me.

I think we need to get past politically based opinions and look at it scientificly. If it is not real, explain polar ice melt. If it is real, why is it happening and can we do anything about it? Should we do anything about it? Are there any benefits to a warmer earth? Maybe it's a good thing.

If, as some think, this is a global disaster in the making, how do you think our descendants a hundred years from now are going to view us?

Today it was 34 degrees while less than 200 miles away it was in the 70's. In Missouri, global warming is fake.

Even if it's fake, almost nobody is doing anything to stop it.

That's because it's nature. You can't stop nature. You can't point your finger at the sky and make it stop raining. It's warmed up considerably since the ice age. It may just be me, but I don't think the it's because the sabertooth tiger and woolly mammoth were pumping out tons of green house gases from their respective factories. Would global warming happen, even if we didn't pollute? Yes. Is pollution speeding up the process? More than likely. Is there anything we can do to stop it? No, like I said before, you can't control nature. Would cutting down pollution help? It might buy us some time, but that's about it.

Very true. As long as I can have my baby-fighting ring (Bad Newz Nursereez), I'm cool.

Mike

Exactly.

There was a time when I thought it prudent to treat human contributed global warming as real. My reasoning was that even if it wasn't, the movement to ween the U.S. off of fossil fuels would eliminate dependence on the middle east for oil. I thought the price for believing it was real and being wrong was less than the price for believing it's fake and being wrong.

But pouring over mind numbing debate on the internet on the topic made me completely apathetic to the whole ordeal. I realized that I should be using that time to watch Tivo'd "Fat Baby" episodes of Maury Povich which is vital scouting for my baby fighting operation.
