Is it a real Fender Jazz Bass?

FWIW, I had a natural finish '01 MIA Jazz, and now have an '01 Classic Series 60's Jazz (MIM) and neither one has had a skunk stripe neck, the MIA was a string thru body, and the 60's has threaded saddles and reverse tuners ... I think that the Foto-flames were a MIJ deal, werent they?? and then the neck was foto-flamed too on the ones I have seen ... this looks like a parts bass, with a little 'enhancing' to me ... I would toss it up over on the Fender Discussion Page and I am sure that the boys there can tell you what you are looking at for sure .... BTW, where was it posted for sale? price? and what details does the seller say about it?

The logo and serial number didn't look right to me, that was what made me intuitively suspicious, but then I saw the other things other posters pointed out, especially the heel of the neck and the bridge. NOT a Fender.

You know guys, it's possible that the seller of this bass was duped when he bought it. Maybe he is just trying to sell a bass that he believes is real. Give him the benefit of the doubt. You should talk to the seller. Tell him it is a fake and read his reaction. He could be totally surprised. However, if that is not the case, I say continue the lynching.

... how/where did you find this bass for sale? you have some VERY good pics of it. I would think that if someone was trying to pass something off as shakey as this is, they would be very stingy with the detailed pics ... just a thought, but is someone trying to see on here if this will pass before they try to market it ... hmmm .. join date of yesterday, and a total of 5 posts and all on this thread, attempting to establish legitamacy and value .... ?? ... just an old guy kind of thinking to myself here ... pay no attention :)
