A retro rock band I was in several years ago, we got rid of a girl singer who loved singing "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. She took it hard, and would occasionally show up at subsequent gigs to heckle, and after we finished a song would yell "White Rabbit!" from the back of the room. So, of course, we immediately whipped into Free Bird...

I've never had anyone say it to me, honestly. Although a little while ago, our BL was adding some photos to our Facebook page and, low and behold, there is a picture of me playing with the caption underneath saying "There's Jerry slapping that bass".

I don't think people understand what it really means. I think a lot of people just think that the term means "playing the bass".

The ONLY part of that movie that is kinda funny is the part where they meet Rush. And even in that scene, Rush are the only ones with any comedic delivery at all. ...And they were merely acting like themselves.

As a matter of fact, they may have been even funnier had they not had to recite such a horrible script.

Never got any funny lines... I definitely have gotten compliments on my playing being devoid of slap though (make of that what you will...). Weird ain't it.

When ur playing a gig and some guy or girl in the audience walks up to you and "slapping the bass man." or someone sees u with your bass and says it does it ever get old to y'all or is this just me. Yea it was cool for the first 1000 times i heard it but no its gotten kinda old. Anyone else with me?
