First of all, hard core science fiction fans NEVER use the term "sci-fi".
It's either written out in its entirety ("science fiction") or abrieviated "SF".
If the fantasy genre is included, then "F & SF" is permissable.
Secondly, I don't know what we're going to see when you get your link working, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that no matter what it says, you won't get a majority of SF fans to agree with it.

There's a relatively new TV station near me that I receive over the air (free!) called Comet. It reminds me of the early days of SYFY (which I pronounce "sifee"). Lots of old B&W 50's and 60's era movies and TV shows, lots of "B" movies, and I'm loving it. That's real science fiction.

future fiction (Canticle For Leibowitz)...
sword and sorcery (Hobbit)...
fantasy (Dragonriders)...
plus hybrids and crossovers and a bunch of sub genres etc.
Like every other human activity, there are people who think the distinctions matter, people who dont think so, and people who dont even notice.
Like every other human activity, there are people who want to fight about it. Some of those think it's important that other people watch them fight about it.
Some people think it's all just stories, told well or poorly.
