Is it worth getting a john east preamp for a cheaper bass???

The East is a very good preamp and well worth the look. Also consider looking at the ACG preamp. It's custom made for AGC by John East and takes a slightly different approach to tone shaping. It uses a similar filtering approach as Alembic does and is incredible - a Swiss Army knife of preamps.

Thank's for all good information guys.
Like always this is the place for bass player.

I went to a different path. I was afraid to expend too much money on this bass, and i took the Aguilar OBP3 from my 6 str's and i put it on jazz bass. I got surprised.
The Aguilar sounds a lot better on it (unbelievable ) than before on my 6 str's. I think Aguilar is designed for jazz.
Now i can say i have a nice jazz bass.

But i created a new problem,( a good one ) Find a preamp to work perfectly with the Barts split coil on my 6 str's. But on this one price will Not be a issue for a preamp, Because this bass has sentimental value.

Bassmods beq12 preamp are the best for there prices I playd a mim fender deluxe jazz 5 with a aguliar op3 with bartolini 57j1 and I have squier deluxe 5 with bartolini 59j1 and bassmods beq12 3 band the almost sound alike
