Not wrong at all. I prefer to actually play a bass before I buy, but for $99 as long as you go in with low expectations you probably won't be disappointed. Take a look at the 6 string for $159! that's almost too good to pass up. It's actually gotten some praise on this forum too.
My vote is pull the trigger.

I think Rogues are great for the money. I bought a couple for my sons as their first bass. I also clued my good friend into them and he has played his on 500+ gigs, usually for 1-2 sets per gig to give his back some relief from his Fender Jazz bass.

Seems like a good deal if it's what you're looking for. That 31" scale is a deal killer for me, though.

EDIT: After reading the post below mine, I agree that doesn't seem right...it's probably a typo. The pic of the fiver doesn't LOOK like a short scale.

It's only $99. I say if you're GASing for it at all, go for it and you won't have much loss, if any.

EDIT: This isn't really on topic, but I noticed that the 4 string version has a standard 34" scale, and the 5 string version that the OP is looking at has a 31" scale. Doesn't make sense to me.

hmmmmm I could have sworn I read somewhere it was a 35"

That does seem odd

My first axe was a Rogue, and it wasn't a bad instrument at all. The stock pickups area little on the weak side, although certainly not unusable. I really liked the thing and didn't want to sell it when it came time to. Slap some new pickups and maybe a preamp if you're in to active basses and you're good to go.

Yes they are 31 inch scale. It is weird because the fours are 34. I played a used one at gc and can verify that it was short scale and it did feel nice on my medium sized hands. The body was very light compared to the fretless four that I have (LX200F) which is very heavy for a cheap bass. I was able to fly around on the five and the b string didn't seem floppy or anything. I currently GAS for one but an extra hundred is hard to come by these days.

I totally lucked out yesterday.

Found a guy on CL selling both the Rogue 5-string and fretless four in my neighborhood. I bought them both for $120. Necks were warped and action very high, but I took them apart when I got home and did my magic and now they feel and play great. Haven't been able to judge the sound yet, but I can tell that the p'ups are weak... still I'm quite happy for $60 each.

That's not a very good bass.

Rogue used to have some really nice instruments. Like so many good things since the Bain buyout, this is no more.

Some of their stuff was contracted to PT and the examples I personally saw were, though goofy designs, immaculately built and detailed, really excellent product.

Their later Chinese stuff is nowhere in the same category except by chance. :hmm:
