Is it wrong to sell your first bass?

I don´t think I will ever sell my first bass. It is an Ibanez EX series. I have been keeping it for 18 years now. Most of the time it´s inside the gigbag though. From time to time I take it out and play it a little. I still like the bass. Although my interests sound and feel wise are somewhere else now. I just can´t resist the 80´s shaped head looks, and have to remove the dust out of it from time to time ;):)

I was very lucky that my first bass is a great bass that I still own: Hamer Chapparal 5 US (EMG loaded). If I were to sell it, I'd better have a reason. If I were to keep it I'd better have a reason as well. Just keeping a bass for sentimental, but not realistic at any extend, reasons, is valid as long as no other priorities force to sell

Go with your gut. My first was crap and I'm not the sentimental type, so I don't care. My second however, was a '76 4001 that I kick myself regularly for letting go (during my obnoxious mid 80's slap and pop phase). I'd use that bass all the time now if I had it.
