Currently I'm working on forming a Stickercore band. Naturally as the singer I'm more artsy fartsy, leaning toward decoupage.

Sticker that bass if you want! I have placed, and removed, many a sticker from guitars over the years. The leftover residue comes right off with a little effort.

Depends on the bass.

On my custom with a beautiful Macassar Ebony top, NO CHANCE. On my old SR505 or RBX170 with a painted finish, HELL YEAH

And if you go with stickers and change your mind, GooGone will remove any adhesive that water doesn't without damaging the finish.

When I was a kid we would always use nail polish remover. It works great also.

Dude, it's a joke. Do what you want with your bass, but heed all of the pros/cons given here (as well as their opinions/advice...they know of which they speak)...the snarkiness here is part of its charm...welcome...enjoy the snark, get a thicker skin, and all the best on your musical endeavors!

I heard that stickering your bass is bad, and that you shouldn't do it, but I think it looks so cool! Is it really that bad to sticker your bass?

Keep in mind these guys who are telling you that stickers will ruin your finish and destroy the resale value probably spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars extra to get a bass that has been intentionally tarnished so it looks older than it really is

My only issue with stickers is how they age, particularly when they start to lift, or tear after lifting.

So my next sticker bass is gonna start with an unfinished body, which I'll fill, prime, sticker then poly. Figure a few layers of poly ought to keep the corners down and the print intact.

Started collecting the stickers two tours ago, only problem now is the wife has the same idea for them, but she want's to redo the top of the basement bar with them. May have to tour more often...

warning: poly will make the ink run on some stickers which may or may not be to your liking.
