Is it wrong to think you're unattractive?

Find whatever makes you different an roll with it.

I see attractive women with not-very attractive men; and its based on how they stood out. Aside from personality.

I know how you feel; I know I'm not unattractive but where I live, (city on an island in a pluvial rainforest) I am not considered attractive.

You have to move to where the fish are biting (Cliché fishing metaphor delivered)

This part reminded me of a bit by a comic I saw once. She grew up in a small town and moved away to the big city to try to get famous. She said "How attractive you are depends on who you're being compared to. Back home, I'm a fairly attractive woman. But by L.A. standards, I'm a man."

Make sure you visit the dentist 2-3 times a year. Get one of those high speed rotating tooth brushes and clean/floss/mouth wash morning/after lunch/before bed. Always have fresh breath.

IM0, get your teeth to be near movie star perfect, smile a lot, be friendly but not overly, throttle your negative tone/replies and keep doing a great job. If you're not being recognized maybe it's time to find a new job? Bigger hospital where there are more males in the dept?

I'd also keep a list of who's getting promoted/raises : gender, color, age, etc. to see it you can determine if there is a pattern.

I actually brush my teeth and floss at work, mostly because I work 10 hour shifts. I also simply don't like dental pain or the dentist inflicting more pain.

I'll pay attention to who gets the better raises, although this stuff is supposed to be confidential. I'm a very analytical problem solver and extremely detail oriented. I would have hoped this would be a valued trait. Nope. My gut tells me they want more of a yes man or a schmoozer.

Find a better dentist. The more often you go, the less pain you'll have because your teeth/gums will be in better shape. I don't think anyone likes pain.

IME, a regular tooth brush does not do enough work and can't compete with a high speed rotating brush. Also, unless polished by the dentist, they'll look dull and stained. It's unavoidable unless done by a professional.

You can have terrible breath even if you brush your teeth and never see a dentist. Look up gingivitis and gum disease. Your teeth will rot from under you and you won't feel a thing until it's too late and cost you thousands or have to have teeth pulled.

I suggest applying these skills to your health...starting with your pearly whites. :D Maybe find a dentist who is a very analytical problem solver and extremely detail oriented!

Also, you can be analytical and detailed AND be a warm, fuzzy, well-liked person. One does not preclude the other. If it does for you, it's because that's what's normal for you.
