Is my amp being used when I'm not there?

I always take my head home. The XB3 410 lives at the practice space which is at our singer's house.
Without permission, they moved the cab outside for a big party a couple Summers ago. I got a call to "borrow" my head when they figured out it was not a combo. I am certain that if I had left the head there, they'd have never told me they were using the cab.
I do the same thing with the rig I use at church. I take the head home. It removes the temptation for the yutes (or grown-ups) to plug in and "see what happens".
All of my heads are quite portable so it is no big deal to tote them to and from these places. I would never consider leaving a bass in my practice space.
I always consider any common practice space as a future crime scene.

I have seen far too many metal bands running at full blast, master down, gain cranked for distortion to be comfortable with others using my gear. No way I'd leave ALL of that stuff there. My bass comes home. If I had a micro head, that would come home too.
I like the idea of a cheap beater amp.

Not that anyone should be using your gear with out your permission.
But there is no issue running your gain high, and your master low for distortion.
Having fried a few speakers in my younger days myself, I'm just gonna agree to disagree. I'm just sayin' at the ear bleeding volumes some of these winners play at, I would not want them using my gear at all.
