is my rics neck bent???

If you have a return policy with the place you bought the Ric, don't hesitate in getting it checked out. I'm not saying your Ric is flawed; I can't tell from the pics; just make sure you don't wait too long just in case that turns out to be an option you could have utilized.

This Ric here had the same problem ... so I sold it ...

How long ago did you get it? Because MF has a 45-day return policy and give a full refund...if you can still meet that, I say you ring it back up and Fedex it right back pronto! You're gonna have to pay shipping, but hey, that's way better than forking over another $2K for a new Ric.

I don't believe they actually do that with the Rics. Rickenbacker doesn't allow any returns. When I talked to them a while back, they said that the 45 day guarantee doesn't cover them.

He is one of the senior posters/members on the www.rickenbacker.com forum. Has a whole bunch of Ric basses, too. His name on that forum is Rickenbrother!

Read through his website and I believe he even provides an email address for you to write him if you have a question not covered. He knows his stuff very well. Start there.

A tech/luthier is a great option.... if they have worked with Rickies.

With the dual truss rods and neck-thru design, plus with RIC designing their necks to be optimally straight, not with a neck relief like Fender designs, make sure the tech has a good repair/adjustment knowledge for the 4003.

Whoops...did not know that one. Never had a Ricky, though it is one of my "dream basses". That is, as DogBone said, very disappointing to hear though because we're talking $1-2K instruments! You'd think they'd have some sort of return/refund policy for that kind of dough... :scowl:
