I have to chance to purchase one of these basses and i am wondering if they are any good. Any help would be much appreciated.

Is the Vox White Shadow Bass Any Good?

They were made in Japan during the mid 80's and didn't sell well which is why they were discontinued after only 18 months of production. Almost all of the ones that I've seen have been fretless with two Jazz bass single coil pickups. Vox had them made available in both 4 & 5 string versions. If you can find one that's been taken care of and isn't over priced because it carries the Vox name, they can be fun basses to own and play. I've been looking for a 5 string White Shadow for a long time. They're as rare as hens teeth.

This one is fetted and is in the low 200s with a vox hard case. What do you you think of that price?

Well, if it was me I would buy it providing it didn't have any (serious) issues. If you decide to pass on it let me know.

I have a black Japanese fretted White Shadow 4 string. It's the best bass I've ever owned, sounds great, better than Ps I've owned before. I put a Badass ii bridge on (still have the original). Not sure what kind of wood these instruments are made from?? I would like toget an idea on price.
