I haven't seen any. But I gotta ask BEADG or EADGC? I was kinda assuming BEADG from the question. Would have to string it massive to fight flop.

I'm thinking it might be hard to find a good sounding Low B with a short scale.

If you can locate this vintage Fender, you'd be lucky:

Maybe travel guitars might be better:
PalmGuitar makes a PalmBass version. But I can only see a 4 string pic on their website. Maybe they can make a customized 5-string, but since it's for children you're probably not going for a customized instrument. - Invalid Link Removed

is the Squier Bronco Bass made as a 5string???good little bass for kids.. the b might be to loose on a short scale to be of any use???

A search will reveal in what band knarleybass plays in and then it all becomes very clear
. At least that's what I think.
The BEADG won't be much of a problem string-wise, I've capo'ed my 6'er F#BEADG (Warwick Dark Lord strings) to BEADGC (~25.5") and EADGCF (~19") with no problem. You'll need a bridge that locks the strings though, a .175 won't go through any tuner that will take the tension.
So my guess for a source would be any and all luthiers here.

I had been under the same assumption (that it was short scale) and someone here pointed out that it is 34" scale.
Why not get it and mod it? I'm sure you could get it someone. Me I dont know how. Sorry.

Well, too bad you need five, or I'd suggest you wait till the Kala UBass solid body comes out later this year. Sounds good, looks like a toy. Played one a NAMM and it actually sounds pretty neat. 20" Scale.
I would think not, although perhaps it's more feasible to restring a 30" scale BEAD, although the B probably won't be anything great.
