I found a 1977 American p-bass for $375. Do you guys think that's a good deal? I played it, all the electronics were fine it was very dirty and had a few dings on the body
yeah, buy it right this second if you can confirm the USA /1977 bit. And I mean go - leave your house and go get it.
That's a great deal, providing it really is a '77 Pbass. Most Pbasses priced like that are Chinese copies with a 70's decal. Post photos before you buy.
There's an old saying...if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is. If it is a 77 then it typically sells for around around 4 to 5 times that price.
At that price point, if it has a working truss rod and plays well, I would pick it up regardless of its authenticity. Then again...I haven't seen the front. Black pg?
Your guitar was made at the Fullerton Plant (Fender - CBS Era), USA in the Years: 1977 - 1978. According to the serial number.
I'm not a Fender expert, but it looks reasonably authentic from those pics. At $350 I'd take a chance on it as long as it plays/sounds good.
The photos needed are those of the front of the bass. *edit - ah, ok, you're working on it. Carry on.
