Is this a good deal?

Not to be a total downer, but there has I be a reason why this was so cheap. Anyone think about the fact that it might be stolen? The FIRST place thieves go to is to the nearest pawn shop. If I were you, I'd be asking around if anyone had a bass that was recently stolen in your area. Usually it goes where they tell you the serial number, and they show you a picture of that person with the bass, and a picture of the exact serial number.
That's how I'd do it anyways.

But if the whole thing really happened, I'd be VERY happy and VERY great full. Consider yourself, at the least, lucky.

the case alone is worth $375 to some collectors.

That case?? Not $375, no way.

After you bought it. Take the neck off. And look at the numbers. Make a photo of it. Then you are ready to sell it on for something between 3000 and 6000 dollar.

Good Lord - LOL!!! Not American dollars!!!

That bass is worth somewhere between $1,300 to $1,900. Which still makes a $375 purchase price a smoking deal.

It's the pawn shop's responsibility to determine whether it's stolen or not. It's not up to the buyer to question why an item like this is priced as it is. Sometimes a deal is just a deal.

Pawn shops have to submit their purchases to the local police. There should be little to no chance this was stolen. If it was it wasn't reported.

Congrats to the OP! This is a heckuva score!
