I'm thinking about trading one of the basses I have for sale for this one. Originally I wasnt interested in any trades but I've been thinking about these for a while. But I just need to ask... Is this fender legit?

And if it is, how much does these usually go for used? My bass is valued around $800 is this a fair trade on either end?

Never understood that headstock logo....... although it's pretty cool.
Sold listings on "Yeebay" show $640, $740, $750, and a few at $850.
I'll bet that big ol' bridge pickup has some meaty growl to it.

Tell him to pound sand unless you feel like getting hosed. The older ones go in the $700 range all day long. Anything pre-2008 is "older."

Yes and No. I've watched a bunch of these for a while and a $600 would be an amazing deal. You're easily looking at $700-$800. Seems like it should be a very close to perfect straight trade for the two basses. Completely up to your judgement of course.

Yea, $200 is a bit too much. Maybe $50 if you want it that bad. Unfortunately alot of people value their instruments way too high. I see this on eBay all the time. Basses that are listed for $300-$400 what used usually sells for. That's why Reverb.com is nice because it has a range of what used has sold for listed right under the asking price. Although that site seems to always have higher prices! Go figure.

These are pretty good basses if you like active basses. I don't recall them having Hipshot tuners but they look original so I wouldn't worry about this being a real Fender.
Here's a link to Guitar Centers used gear website where they have about 8 of them for sale in the $900 (give or take a hundred bucks) bracket...

If you've had a chance to play it and you really like how it sounds and feels (more than your Gretsch) and you can get it from your buddy for about $900 or less (equivalent in cash and trade) it wouldn't be a bad deal.
