Double Bass #$%@! Is this for real?!?!

And, the Vikings "discovered" and settled North America (along with the peoples that had been here for at least 13,000 years before that) before the wood in this bass was alive.
Yeah. If they had been able to venture further south, or if the "Little Ice Age" hadn't been so severe, things would be very different in North America!
 
So...to bring it back on subject...EVERYONE who loves the bass should have this poster...

I'm astonished how much the outline has been cut down right through the amazing ornamention. it would have been one broad bass if you follow the original outer purfling!

Cool that you bought it...it is worth the very little money they are asking, huh?!?! Yeah...If my memory serves me right...it has triple purfling...but only one or two places show evidence of that...in some areas it's been trimmed back so much that there is NO original purfling left!

I'd love to get my hands on it for a good look.
