Is this repainted?

I just bought an Ibanez srf700 with %9 discount + case. But the seller didn't tell me anything about this. There was a little dot on the back and told me that the discount is because of that. Do you guys think that this bass is repainted?

Nothing to remotely indicate a refinish at all. Just a teeny tiny factory flaw. Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. Enjoy your new bass!

You see an orange - brown line in the white fret marks of the neck. I referred to that.

Not a refinish, just a small, no one else will notice, slightly less than perfect manufacturing flaw on a mass produced instrument.

A good way to tell is to take the neck off and look for the original finish seen in the pocket. It is too risky to refinish within the pocket, so usually there is where you can tell.

The picture in post 9 is just either stain that worked up through the masking or, more likely, they didn’t mask all the way down to the body. I’d guess someone figured it’s better to get a little tinted clear on the darker fingerboard material then have some of the body get masked off and have that not get sprayed where it’s much more obvious. They probably hold the masking up a little off of the body rather then mask and have someone have to go back and trim it (more labor), this one may have gotten up a little farther then most.

That’s right, just saw along the neck all the way to the bridge, check for paint, then use tite-bond to glue your bass’ body back together

If people are going to great effort to attempt to bring a modern Ibanez back to it's original finish, as if it were stock... Well then I guess that we're all up the creek.
