A very unique and gnarly looking intrument (Is it still a Bass?)..very cool, and he is a great player!

I put Scott in genius territory. The guy has MAJOR skills. If you look all the way through his exhaustive YouTube directory, you will find more than one set done with a standard (and one of his favorite) 4-string basses. He is just as uniquely talented on a conventional bass as he is on his fantastic constructs.
When I am buzzing through satellite radio, I often stop at the "Chill" kind of stations that specialize in electronica. Most of that music uses instruments like Scott's to achieve that sound.
Not everyone's cup of tea, to be sure. It still takes major chops to play it, tho.

While I don't have the abilities needed to play that bass, I think it's really cool. I enjoy Scott's playing and find his tunes quite melodic. Mainstream it's not, but I like a lot of variety in my listening, so I might have to pick up Scott's EP.
