Is your tuning evil?

I'm wondering if someone famous actually proposed this, would it actually fly.
How influential would they have to be to pull it off?

I'm thinking the only way this could've been instituted is via Jazz. Surely Count Bassie/ Goodman/Ellington or any other heavy hitters back in those days could've made this a viable concept.

Well, Col. Bruce Hampton & the Aquarium Rescue Unit with Otiel Burbridge and Jimmy Herring used to tune to 432 for what sounded like the same reasons our harmonically chilled friend does. Thankfully, I don't have perfect pitch, so when I saw them they sounded great! :D

EDIT: Or was it 438, which makes for another take on this theory???

Since the second is really just an arbitrary unit of time, all you have to do is adjust your unit of measurement, so that it no longer counts cycles per second, but cycles per some other unit of time. Then you can tune to any number you like!

A second is the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium-133 atom

Just to be safe from Nazi's, I'm tuning A=432hz from now on! Wouldn't be surprised if Zombies are in on it too!

:D
