Issues with polarity on Ampeg tube amp

Hi all,

Recently fired up my SVT at my apartment and had a weird issue where I'd need to flip the polarity switch on my amplifier every few minutes to keep my amp from feeding back.

None of the indicator lights are flashing a code.

I had a fresh retube last year and low hours since then.

Before this, I had an outlet blow in the adjacent room (still waiting on landlord to fix)

Could this just be power issues in my building? Its fairly old.

That’s an odd one. Sounds like your line power/wiring has serious issues. Good luck in dealing with Mr. Landlord.

The polarity switch on SVT-VR’s and CL’s has three positions. Try it in the middle.
