You should hear the Artist version of the same bass then...very unique sounding and polarizing instruments, then and now. And I have yet to play one that is not a direct competitor to T40 weight-wise. All of that being said, I didn't care for them when they were new, but wouldn't mind owning one nowadays.

I had a change to buy one of those some years back. Cool bass for a Gibson.
It somehow reminds me of a 1950 Studebaker. go figure.

Well, its an OK bass I guess. I think the look of it is cool...I'll give it that. But just not impressed with the tones he had---maybe the amp, whatever. Overall, within the EQ he was playing, to me it sounded much better with fingers than with a pick (I think I heard the famous Gibson mud creeping in with a pick surprisingly), even tho both methods still underwhelming. And for me, a bass MUST sound good with fingers and good with pick or its a no-go.
My opinion:

Upper strap button on the underside of the horn. That would bother me. Like those SG's or Vee's with that button on the back of the heel.
On those guitars you'd have to put the strap on the button backwards so it didn't pull the button out of the strap. Even then the guitars would want to flop forward.

I watch Mark Agnesi/Norman's Rare Guitars every night - they've got a lot of cool instruments. That Gibson Victory color is, "off-the-charts", cool.
Really? The 1950 Studebaker didn't have a series/parallel switch.
Dude has some serious bass face going on...I like the Custom version with the 2 pups.
I like everything except the baby s**t yellow color.
That's pretty cool, but I prefer another USA-made slant-pup.....the Peavey T-20 or early Fury bass:
