+100, I feel bad for the family of the murdered girl, killed for busting a co-worker for stealing.:scowl:
I have no sympathy for the murderer, she did this cold blooded, and tried to make herself up as the victim. I'm not a religious by ANY means, but this is when I hope I'm wrong and this **** gets to take a cruise on the lake of fire!

I agree with how easy it is to ruin your life. But the potential method is different for every individual. Some people have addictions which cause them to make stupid choices. Others may be slaves to their immediate passions, like anger or fear.

When I was younger I used to drive while intoxicated on a weekly basis. I shudder to think that I may have injured or killed someone by doing so which would have ruined my own life as well as others.

A friend of mine and band mate for many years became a heavy drinker and kind of disappeared from the scene. Then I read in the paper that he was arrested for having a sexual relationship with a 14 year old girl. He is now serving 40 years - essentially the rest of his life - in prison. He probably severely stained the future of that girl but in so doing he gave up freedom for the rest of his natural life.

I could describe a few more stories but you get the picture. :(

You think it's a difficult decision, as a adult, to not have sex with a 14 year old girl?

She made a conscious decision a) steal, and b) end the life of her coworker. What is there to be sorry about? She did an action, and will earn the consequences.

It is easy to ruin your life, but it is just as easy, if not easier to NOT ruin your life. A simple, "Yeah, you're right, I shouldn't be stealing from the hand that feeds me" would have saved two lives. With several other examples mentioned - it is just as easy to say "I drank too much, I can't drive" or "That girl is not an appropriate age. I will control myself to avoid prison time". Problems solved.

I don't feel sorry for the murderer. She did a terrible thing and she is going to pay, however, I believe basically decent people sometimes make terrible choices. I don't know if Norwood is decent or not, but her crime sounds like one bad decision after another, not something premeditated.
