It's Baaack! Pre-CBS Fender Precision mod from hell on CL

In all seriousness, if the rest of it is original, he could part it out and have close to 2 grand in vintage parts. Tuners, neck, pups, neckplate, pots, bridge. I've seen people doing restorations pay over $800 for the neck alone. That body needs to be used to keep someone warm this winter.

I emailed that guy last year when I was heading to Arizona that if the neck tested healthy id give me $2000 if all else was original, no reply. I doubt he has had a better offer. Id replace the body with a relic body or maybe if it was a 3 piece body saw off the "wings" keep the center block with neckpocket, pickup route and have new wings glued on, would be more then a new body but....

How do you put a value on something like that ? If it fell in my lap, it wouldn't hurt my feelings to put an old relic bod on that and rock it as is. But the body just , just, sheesh. Really when you think about it, it's still going to be a part out with a wrecked body still attached.

Or just cut the wings off and you have yourself the first ever vintage Fenderberger.....

Nothing some tort and napalm couldn't fix.

This comment wins the thread. Though I prefer duct tape and WD-40.....
