Jazz V replaced with SR5 H, after much internal deliberation.
Should get it later next week or the following.....
Think it was a good idea?
A little nervous since I didn't get to try before I swapped?
Never even played a Stingray before.....actually never even seen one in person.
I play loud rock/stoner type rock, with a 5 string tuned up to C standard. So I need something that will cut through cranked up guitars with fuzz. I'm mostly a rock player. I play through a biamped clean/dirt set up.
A thick, ballsy, punchy tone is what I'm looking for.
When distorted I like it nasty....just pure raw.
While my Jazz felt and played amazing....I could never get along with the tone.
I have been using a USA Peavey Millennium 5 J/MM recently. I really dig the MM solo'd tone....but I have to say the Peavey is rather smooth overall.
I know, I know...Jazz vs Stingray....
I've searched and read threads for the last two days. pages and pages.
