Both tracks sound great. Kinda reminds me of the James Gang.
You mentioned the J pups were Nordstrands but what about the P pup?
I liked the Jazz more, it added a Zeppelin-ish vibe and the overall mix allowed the growl to cut through more.

Also like the guitar part and his tone. What was his rig? Sounds like something with a bridge humbucker into a Marshall with some light chorusing going on.
