Jack 212 build

He just means that, when the access panel is removed, the back is completely open. With his, as you can see the access panel is shortened on the top and bottom where that handle and jack and the wheels are.

I boxed them in with some plywood. I made triangles for the sides and then flat pieces with 45 degree cut ends...if you can picture that in your head.

It was a lot of extra work, but I suppose you could just use copious amounts of hot glue or silicon.

Yep ;)

Just be careful not to make the extra pieces too tall as they will end up interfering with the magnets on the drivers. Fitment may be tighter with the Beta or 3012HO as well.

Wow, thanks, dude. I can totally picture it in my head because that's kind of what I was thinking would have been a solution. Anyway, I think I flip flopped on what I'm going to build. Think I'm going with the two J112s now. However, I'll probable still get around to building a J212 or one of the Tall Boys at some point and I'll definitely go with the coasters.

I did see those corner mount coasters, but your extra work here has really paid off. It looks so sharp on the inside of the box like that.

And thanks for the foam tape tip. I'll check that out and add it to my list. I'm planning on getting a hold of the wood to start building this weekend or this week. And I'm going to get one of Leland's kits in the mail next week from spearkerhardware.com. I CAN'T WAIT!!

No HF drivers. I believe I had read Bill say that he was happy with the jack12 and no HF drivers so I decided to try it that way first. Don't quote me on that though.

HF on the jack 12 is fairly warm--not bright, but warm enough--without the optional piezo array or compression drivers. I don't feel that the highs are adequate with a tweeter-less standard reflex 12 cab loaded with deltalites or betas, but the jack works some magic--which may just be better dispersion. I dunno.

I actually prefer a tweeter-less cab.

Nice build, very pro looking. I love the casters and rails on the back.

Since the Jack is full range, you'd be better off pairing a tuba with an Omnitop or DR. The low end of the jack can be quite impressive though.

Lol, it must be pics of your O15 TB that I saved as a reference for when I was considering that as my first build.

I think I'll eventually build one of the taller cabs just as an excuse to throw the in handle, wheels, and runners back there. I looks awesome.
