Yeah thanks, that cab was a beast. A little less articulate and sensitive in the mids than the jack, but bigger lows.

i just realized this thread is close to a year old... didn't see where you ever commented on the lows. is this cab everything you ever wanted? does it handle a low b well? is it really loud? (it looks loud!) etc?

To me, the low b (...Bb or A) is great. The lows filled in nicely as the drivers continued to break in, but the jack isn't an extended lf, strong in the fundamental frequency type of cab. It does have a very usable tone profile and really high sensitivity. Loud, clear, cutting, and good dispersion are what it does best.

If you are after lots of lows along with really high sensitivity you need to look into the Omni 15 which uses a higher excursion lf driver and a longer horn. If I were to get around to doing another BF cab, which I would like to, the Omni 15 TB is next on my list. So no, it's not everything I ever wanted, but variety is the spice of life.

When you added the extra 3 inches to the top and the bottom, did you have trouble fitting the speakers inside?

How did you handle the bracing?

It was more like 4.5 or 5" and it was close, but the DL2512's fit.

How did you handle the bracing?

I shortened the triangular braces on the back panel so that they fit. The 5" extensions at the top and bottom are short enough that they don't need bracing. The 1"x1" shelf pieces that the back panel screws into at the top and bottom were enlarged to 1.5"x1" so that the extra 1/2" of it can be glued under the bottom of the 5" extension creating a continuous 1" border around the opening in back.

Cool, I see what you mean. Thanks. I'm using DL2512s as well, so that's should be fine.

I'm bouncing around a couple of other idea as to how to incorporate the handle and coasters. But in the end I wouldn't be surprised if I just end up doing the way you have.
