Jack Bruce’s strings?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what strings Jack Bruce used in the 70s specifically.

Well, Bruce played a lot of different stuff during the '70s, so being more specific about what album/era sound you'd be interested in would help.

The early albums where he still was on EB-3 or Dan Armstrong London are most likely the same light gauge La Bella flats that he was using in his Cream days.

Once he moved to Aria, we definitely enter the roundwound era. SIT from early '80s all the way to the end.

I know he played Rotosound 55 pressurewounds on his fretless Warwicks later in life. But I’m not sure what he played in the 1970s.

I love Jack Bruce’s playing and music.

I know he endorsed SIT strings throughout the 80’s and 90’s.

just found out about it. Did anyone know?

"One of the greats that we lost recently that used them was Jack Bruce (in addition to him using the RB series). The SIT Silencers Semi-Flat Compression Wound Strings were developed for Jack Bruce, as he wanted a string that would still get the growl without damaging the rosewood fingerboard on his basses."

Interesting. Silencers in any shape and form are one of the stiffest strings I've come across, be it for electric bass or acoustic guitar.

Jack Bruce never struck me as someone who would enjoy playing such strings, but I never knew the man so...
