bongo I saw it as well for sale a few times but I didn't want a Concert B/O since I have the 3bNT, I did say for what he paid he got a really clean c5 with emgs and a case, but not a custom or a CMG of any year.

p.s. I was looking at it as well, as for what it is, not what the 3 sellers claimed it is.

He'll love it!!! :D

and the headstock would say c/s made in usa even if it was supposed to look like that :)

Jacob from AgeOfEvil just got his C/S Jackson, here's a pic:

since it's in gold you cant see the c/s, but it is...lol

I think it is backwards, and it should be white pinstripe on black with all gold, or all black hardware on the same white...eh, we all like what we like :)

That particular bass has been listed on Ebay about six times in the last six months, the last three times by the person who bought it from the guy who listed it the first three times. :) I was tempted to bid on it many times across all of those opportunities, but I already have a very similar Jackson, and can't afford to collect multiples of "nearly the same" bass. It looks awesome though.

HEY BONGO....6 TIMES? hahah let's try 7 times...this time the seller says the buyer bailed and didn't pay for it and now it has another 24 hours to go before he relists it again ---????

I'd be kind of concerned though if it was our posts that caused the buyer to bail. I mean, it's a great bass at a reasonable price, regardless of any misstatements about custom shop or a famous user. If I could afford to have two very similar basses, I'd have bought it for that price.

im not rippin', I'm just a little tickled about how many times it has been listed by different people's ebay names using the same picture set within a certain time frame...ya have to wonder what's going on here :ninja:

300-500 would be a normal price for a superclean EMG converted C5.
about the megadeath thing being used once for recording and put away.....
I suppose they could had someone from the studio run down to a musicStore and bought it on the spot...

I would only believe it with pics of someone from the band holding it. ;)

There is no photo of you holding the Jackson bass that we're talking about. Since you're new here, heads up that this is not a chat room where you just post whatever you want to, in any old thread. Each thread is about a specific subject. It's cool that you have some great band videos to share--so please, start a new thread about your music and your basses. :)

Hi All,

I have a C5a bought as a backup bass.

Trouble is, the sound isn't doing it for me ... it's way too toppy (trebly) and the only way I can tame it is to wind the bass control right up and the treble control way down. Which leaves me no room to manoeuver playing live,

Anyone else have the same issue (it's obviously a taste thing) and if you did, how did you solve it ?

I've had a few ideas, but interested to hear yours.

I have many jacksons and I found them to be very bassy with the oem pickups, but the passive duncans on yours combined with the j2000 pre is gonna be trebly for sure. many other pickups out there that will change the tone.

Have your tried changing the height of both of them from the strings as an experiment just to see if it would do anything yet?

too trebly usually means string facors in there somewhere...
have you thought about another brand string not so "twangy"..lots of possibilities actually.

p.s. my emg'ed model 1 and tbx are runaway trains with treble especially for the new string break in period.

amimbari, thanks for that. I've just realised I that I have not, in fact, posted to the main jackson thread (which is what I thought I'd done), so I might copy this over to that thread, if I can do so without incurring the wrath of the moderators.

ok, so some guy at fender told me its a 2001 jx-40....ok, this is a jackson bass, 5 string with the duncan designed pickups and pre amp...number on the head stock is J 019481. it looks just like a C5a except for the knobs..volume, blend, bass, mid, treb and a toggle switch. can anyone help out here? its factory done work

nope a JX45 would look like my buddys trans red that one is a Concert. Looks like someone ordered it with full chrome thats why the knobs arent black, bur everything else is a C5A
