Absolutely, it looks like is using black Jackson, not even a custom shop. Just no sure what to verified with regular Jackson bass player.

Given the knob spacing & how close the inlays are to the edge of the fingerboard, I'm going to say JS3. The CB-X has closer spacing on the knobs than the JS3.

I'm surprised he plays with a regular model. I mean his bass cost less than 500$, and yet sound amazing on their live album Dark Roots of Thrash.

Doesnt make a difference to me what he plays on stage. Some guys play cheap basses, some guys play expensive ones. Who cars. Most of us understand how an endorsement works and Im sure he would sound the same playing a JS or a cheap kellybird.

I'd play a Kellybird if it came in a 5. -_- Why do they offer the Concert and CB-X in a 5, but not the Kellybird?

I'm doing that with a Squier P neck & a wrecked MIM Fender P body. Loading it with EMG 40HZ pickups, a Spector Tonepump & convering to a 5-er. I don't know how I'm going to like a 14mm spacing, though. That's SUPER tight. :S

Question for those of you with a Concert bass (CB-XV specifically). Have any of you put a pickguard on it? I ordered a silver CB-XV but am worried it might look too plain & need some spicing up.

I just see a LOT of blank space on the bass where there's just nothing going on. I've seen some great pickguards for the G&L L-2000 (which has about the same amount going on as the CB-X) and they look great. I was thinking of something similar, maybe? Or maybe I'll have a friend of mine do a black burst around the edges?

well since it has to be cut custom anyway, sure, why not try and see what you would like to make your Jackson more to your liking.
