Jaco solo

I forget who originally said this but it is so true, "Electric bass can be split into two eras, Before Jaco and After Jaco!"
I can’t get it to play, but I have a story -
I was in a great originals band in Denver in the ‘00s called Fina Dupa. The bandleader was a surfer and wrote a lot of material about that. He went to Costa Rica a lot, where apparently there is a great surf break near a beach town called “Jaco.” So we played a song called “Jaco” for years and even put it on an album. Imagine the confusion and mayhem.
The reason I mention that here is that when you go to YouTube and search “Jazz Estate Jaco” all the hits are for that place in Costa Rica, not about this video. So it’s the reverse confusion. Finally.

I've always been amused by the guitarist using a shred guitar on that concert. I love doing whammy dives in the middle of Dolphin Dance.
He "quotes" a lot of themes in his solos. I've heard "Third Rock from the Sun", "The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music", "Happy Birthday", "Auld Lang Syne", and more...I love the part where he (seems to) quote If I Only Had A Brain from the Wizard of Oz

Nice! Did Jaco own that particular bass or did he borrow / rent it? That's the first time I've ever seen him with that one.
