I recently purchased Jaco Pastorius, the self titled album. Very good stuff. I had only heard a few recordings of his before, now I must hear more. Anyone have any good suggestions for compact disks to purchase? I saw a few live recordings, any word on the fatness of these?

of his solo recordings, my favorites are Invitation for a live disc and Word of Mouth for a studio recording.

"Refuge of the Roads", " Strange Boy"... that album kills me! beautiful stuff if ever it existed!

hell yea 'refuge of the roads' is so beautiful, i'd recommend all the albums jaco did with joni (Hiejra, Mingus, Don Juans Recklass Daughter' and 'Shadows and Light'), 'Night passage' and '8:30' by weather report are also good listening. The album he did with Pat Metheny is also pretty good(Bright Size Life).
