I haven't taken the time to read all the 14 pages of this thread but from what i've read people have had alot of great things to say. I'm not personally going to comment on Jaco's playing or writing because I honestly don't know THAt much about it and have only been listening to him for a little over a year. What I do have to say is that while I havn't seen any straight bashings of RAV, the thread starter for saying what has to say, if there are any, you shouldn't bash him just because his musical tastes don't exactly match yours. If he doesn't like Jaco's writing/playing/sound hes perfectly entitles to that opinion. He hasn't said anything that contradicts Jaco's contribution to electric bass, hes just said he doesn't particularly like him. Personaly I don't mind hearing this at all because its a somewhat fresh idea/opinion in this forum. Also, appreciate the fact that are people with opinions like RAV's because without people like him, you'd never have the opportunity to rant and rave about how great Jaco was. And yes, he was great. Thank you Jaco.
