Jad Freer Sisma Mega Thread.

I have both, and use both (sometimes).
I prefer Sisma for a warm clean tone and Capo for dirt, but Capo saturation into Sisma set clean is even better because it smoothes the sounds.

For info, Jad Freer team told me twice that they are working on a tube preamp. No idea when it will ready, and if it will look like the preamp section of Sisma or Volta or something else. But I'm sure it will be a killer product.

Oh! That could be very interesting. Thanks for the info. Definitely considering the Sisma. Love my Magellan but the Sisma looks and sounds spectacular. Magellan could stay around and be a back up ready to pinch hit. I bet the Sisma would sound really good through my Bass Array cabs.

Is there no pre-eq option?
The manual is kind of vague as to the source of the effects send (I read it as being post preamp, however), but it clearly states that the DI and Line Out are preamp outs that are not affected by the Master volume.

Finally filmed a run through of the Sisma... sorry for the delay, my son came a little earlier than expected 😊

Hi everyone! My video is finally out showing off the Jad Freer Sisma and Minerva 212 cabinet. Before we get too far into this, I wanted to disclose that I now have a Jad Freer artist relationship. I am very biased because I really like it. I was not paid to have this opinion.

Great review, thanks

I have both also, have fun and enjoy! These two pieces of gear ended my many decades of tone chasing. I've never been so satisfied.
That’s what I’m hoping for!!
will keep you guys posted

Initial impression
Straight in p bass, everything at noon.
Nothing engaged
Playing through a barefaced one10

Straight fire!
I love the natural voice of this amp.
I do believe I can hear a little difference in the power section or is that me drinking the koolaid😳

I played a show last night at a favorite dive bar that was hitting 113db and my Sisma rig (2 Minerva 212s) wasn't in the PA and didn't break a sweat. Ran it clean (gain around 9 or 10 o clock) to cut through a bunch of Orange or SUNN shoegaze guitarists and a drummer riding the crash cymbals.

So far I’m loving it!
Again, OP nailed it on 1st review so no need to follow up on any of this.
It’s a spot on review.
I’m setting it clean and using the capo for slight saturation and it’s pure satisfaction!
I’ve got 10 gigs in April, all in different venues so I’m gonna put it through some live paces.

My only 2 issues
Overseas support ( hope that doesn’t happen, it’s my only amp) but I can run direct if needed

dimension design
I could go for more width and less depth

Oh!
It’s making me miss my Dcx
I bet the Dcx kills through this.
Anyone here tried that?

To all Sisma owners,

Can you share your favorite EQ settings on Sisma (with photos if possible)?

I'm thinking of capturing Sisma with NAM (Neural Amp Modeler). NAM can play amp captures in DAW via a plugin, and now with the new Darkglass Anagram you can also load amp captures in your pedalboard.

I've asked to Jad Freer if they wouldn't mind if I make NAM captures of Sisma (and Capo), and they kindly accepted.

I'd like to capture Sisma with a selection of interesting EQ settings and I'm looking for inspiration and suggestions…

I don't own one, but I had the tester here for a while. These are a couple of captures from a couple of videos I made in a tequila-induced haze…

Don't know if these settings are of interest.

I was using a P bass with La Bella 1954 flats with the Sisma running into a Mesa Subway 115. The amp itself was on top of my WD 800.

The La Bella flats are 52-110 so they offer a certain amount of drive on their own. Causing the bass to hit the front end kinda hard.

I wish I had the money I would have kept it. I would have had to sell the WD to finance it and I didn't want to do that. Love the WD too 😊

Gain around 10 o clock

Deep switch on

Mid select around 400 hz, mid level super slight boost at say… 12:30

Mid select 2 as high a freq as it’ll go, mid level at 1:30

I only play passive basses so I probably wouldn’t do this with an active bass.
