Basically all the bassists Jay Kay has employed are great.

Zender, Randy Hope-Taylor, Paul Turner, Nick Fyffe

but that doesn't do Paul and Nick justice. They are all perfect for the music

some very nice clean boppy basslines on that album.

I'd still vote for Zender though; him and Sonny T made me go Warwick.

After seeing that live link, Paul Turner went up several notches to me! That said, Zender set the mold for Jamiroquai and no one has really taken it in a truly different direction.

I completly agree with you, Paul's playing in that link is really good.
His finger sound is amazing too, but the slap sound on that bass left me wanting a little more, i liked his slapping sound with the SR5 a little more but i think he's going for an old school vibe.

Personally, I don't dig the newer guys. At the end of the day, most of the lines were probably jay kays call anyway.

And I can't believe that Randy is a parttime bus driver!?!? Is there any point in me trying to be a pro musician...

but imo Paul had the tightest playing out of all of them,and I really like Randy Hope Taylor and the other guys.

It's funny you should say that, Paul's said in the past he doesn't like the sound of slapped Stingrays, hence why you usually see him swap over his SR-5 for one of his Jazz basses for all his slapped basslines.
