This was a pretty special/important build for me for a couple of different reasons.

I ordered a flight case to ship this in...
It was from "Bestincase" cases.
I am doing a custom foam cutout & aphoulstry ...I will share pics when I get that done.

And, after much fussing and swearing...
(I actually had to sew the edge return/ skirt around the form fitted area...)
Never again will I use this type of shaggy fuzzy material.

The purple underneath is just regular crushed velvet... MUCH easier to work with.

Oh well... it's done now.
This is really a massive case.
Somewhat of an overkill.
I think I could literally throw this off the roof....
With no damage to the bass inside!!

BTW... I need to mention.... the tone of this baby is amazing!
The combination of the EMG active P/J (in soapbar covers) WITH their BQS System eq & blend....
Phenominal!
With the separate bass & treble boost/cut AND sweepable midrange .... AND hi freq. curve selection, dip switches.... (plus blend & master vol.)
VERY versatile tonal pallet!
I like the tone from EMGs anyway... but the BQS system takes that to a whole new level.
Highly recommended!

I will see if I can get a decently recorded sound clip.

So... I am not trying to "milk" the reveal here...
But this is something pretty cool I just now tried with my pictures: Blacking out the background!

Someone posted a tutorial on how they do this a while back... but I cannot recall who...sorry.
If anyone remembers who posted that... could you link it please?

I just used the magic wand and lasso tools in photoshop. Either that or sometimes had to paint out backround noise by hand.

Any way you do it ....just do it. Because it really brings the eye's focus to the instrument & nothing else.
And somehow makes it look way better!
(Or at least more professional)

That looks super! Also, in the real world there is rairly any pure black. Try adding a very small amount of a color like green... it will give the black a little bit of depth but still look black.

That would also keep the ebony fretboard from getting lost in the background.

Back in my day (you know, before computers) we used to place the instruments on black velvet. And then wait for the pictures to be developed.
